Arnold-Chiari Malformation Support Group

Arnold-Chiari malformation, sometimes referred to as 'Chiari malformation' or ACM, is a congenital anomaly of the brain. Arnold-Chiari Malformation II occurs in almost all children born with both spina bifida and hydrocephalus, but ACM I is typically seen in children and adults without spina bifida.

I got the results of the Cervical Spine MRI. It confirms the Chiari Malformation and no other abnormalities, but my PCP would still like me to go see a Neurologist so I will be making that appointment tomorrow.

thanks for letting us know! At least you have the diagnosis! So many people can't get a doctor to believe them, or they just don't take it seriously (the docs). I think your PCP is doing a wise thing, sending you to a NL.

However, that can go well...or not. For your sake, I do hope it goes well. If the NL doesn't seem to take it seriously and send you on to a NSG, in spite of your debilitating symptoms, then see what you can do about getting to an expert.

Let us know what the NL says and take good care of yourself!

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
