I also agree that liquor is not going to help...You will beat yourself up over buying it and then you will be more anxious when it wears off.

Adventure Guide is doing a 12 week program on here.Something new every week...She gives a lot of good info and advice.Look for week one and then week two...You might find some very helpful things and you'll find that you are not alone.Every Monday she will post something...Next Monday week 3......Check it out.!!!
I think the reason your anxiety is so bad is because you are recovering as an alcoholic, and to refuse to drink is fantastic: it's not only courageous, it's sensible and will make you succeed.
Don't be too fooled by these chemical reactions in your body. They will run out of ingredients soon enough.
You also have to retrain your reactions to stress: 'i'll have a drink' is no longer your main emotional soothing mechanism. You have to do things the hard way for a while until the new sober you is the norm, and you're back on track.
Be kind to yourself and don't expect it to happen overnight. :)
