It sounds like you are doing some good things to take care of yourself - mindfulness, yoga.
There's a mindfulness meditation website that has lots of free talks and guided meditations that I use daily and find helps me to change my thinking and find my center. It has helped me to start to accept and live with negative emotions (including anxiety) and experiences and not get weighed down by them. You might want to listen to one of the talks and see if it's helpful to you too. Here's a link tot he main website: www.imcw.org (and some of the same recordings are on this other site: http://tarabrach.com/audiodharma.html) and here's a link to the talk I listened to this morning that I found really helpful (actually I find them all helpful but this is just the most recent one I have listened to : ) - http://www.tarabrach.com/audio/2011-04-13-Part-1-Realizing-True-Wellbeing-TaraBrach.mp3
You haven't lost your chance at happiness. You just can't see or feel it right now because you're weighed down by negativity and fear. I understand this feeling. Happiness is inside you and you can get in touch with it. When you feel really down, just remember the love, peace and happiness you want is right there inside of you.
I hope something I've said is somehow helpful. I'm confident you'll find your way.

i would be offended by your co-worker too. i'm religious, but i make it my business and no one else's. hopefully she was trying to comfort you and didn't mean to be pushy or preachy. when she brings it up again, i'd tell her to leave the subject alone, you don't want to talk about religion anymore with her.
i know you feel like talking to your best friend's family is betraying her, but if she's addicted, to anything really, she needs help. last year my friend from college told my parents i was addicted to cutting, and i was furious with him. but in the long run, it was what needed to be done, and i understood.
