Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I am not sure what to do. My estranged husband has been in a almost agitated mania fixating on things and making threats and being destructive.
It has been two days of pure hell which I included him having the police perform a welfare check on me at 2 am. He has threatened other people to try to control me, he is telling me I have killed him and he is taking his dog and jeep and leaving.
we have a 17 year old son who has chosen to stay with dad most likely because dad needs to be kept safe from himself lately. I believe he is attempting to self medicate with alcohol. I can't fix any of this and I am wrecked. I have felt sad angry and humiliated. He has pressed for me to file for a divorce. I asked him if he would agree to remain sober if I file- and he said yes. If only I thought he would. If only he would get help. We would not be here if he would accept help. I am so anxious I haven't eaten today. I can't. I am so tired. I spoke to my therapist and took an FMLA day for my anxiety and yet today has been more intense than yesterday.
My friend noticed it is occurring about every 30ish days that he is acting like this. I can't keep going like this and it hurts to see him this way. I know I can't make him get help. I just wish I could not feel so deeply connected and concerned. I wish I could be like other people and have a normal divorce. What's wrong with me?!

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

be concerned about your husband in the state he is in. Has your
therapist given you any advice on how to handle the situation?
when i'm trying to get things out, i like to use the breathing technique i learned in lamaze childbirth classes to get through and work with contractions.

push that baby out of there

normal divorce? ? ? i find myself shocked to think there could be such a thing as a normal divorce. i've never been through a divorce, myself, but i've witnessed more divorces than i care to count and no two of those divorces looked the same to me. am i missing something?
while i can't quite wrap my head around a normal divorce, i can easily wrap my head around, "normal codependency." well? ? ? at least it is normal-for-me. i have codependency issues out the yin yang. that is where i allow other people to dominate my thoughts, etc., to the place where i sacrifice my own welfare for the sake of dancing to someone else's psychotic tunes.
dunno if that applies to your case, or not. . .
so or no. . .
breathing with you. . .
easy does it.
It is understand how you might still have feelings for this
very disturbed man.
I am concerned for you and your 17 year old son. Have you
filed a restraining order? Many domestic violence agencies can
support and help you through this. His behaviors sound so erratic and frightening. Sometimes when you are in the midst of a crisis like this it can be hard to see how out of control. Please take care of yourself

I hope I’m not coming off as mean or anything. I’m concerned for you and your son.
