Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Ugh! One minute i feel fine. Then next minute i am filled with fear, nervousness, anxiety, dread. This is the cycle my anxiety has been like as of recent days. Has anyone experienced these cycles? I am trying to pin down what my triggers are that trigger these waves of anxiety & fear. I am a worry wart and have been my whole life! I have noticed that my exacerbations of anxietytend to be surrounding life events... Like turning 40, having my 15 yr old son starting to drive for the first time. I consider myself lucky.. I have a good life, wonderful husband, 2 beautiful children, a full time job that i mostly like. Cant really understand why i have all this anxiety. Can anyone relate??

Yes I have had the exact same thing happen quite frequently. You just acknowledged why this happens to you because you are a worry wart. And when we don't control what we are worrying about, we end up getting anxious and the more anxious we get, the worse it gets. If this helps at all remember this: 99% of what we worry about, never comes to fruition. I promise I understand. Hugs GB

This is exactly how my last week has been. Came out of the blue and no end in sight. Spent the last 3 nights awake with anxiety and panic attacks with worrying about the entire world. I can't determine any trigger that sent my worry into overload and my anxiety to be almost so bad I am not functioning. Missed work yesterday because of it. I just wanted to hide my head under my blankets. Decided to join this support group because I am feeling so very al alone these days.

Thank you Susan. I am glad you joined! I actuallu feel better when i am at work around people. I tend not to focus on my anxiety as much when i am at work... Its a good distraction

I agree I feel better at work once I get there. It's the the anxiety I feel before and after. I actually want the time to go slow when I am there and seems really sad. Trying to get ready for work now and struggling. I worry about what it will be like when I get off this evening. This is the worse I have been in many years and feel so alone. Thank you for your response and I hope you have a worry free day and weekend.

Hi honey, how are you doing after getting some support and opinions? I know it's not easy to stop but you have one of the most important things accomplished and that is acknowledging what and why.. The only reason I didn't like turning 40 was not having the eye site I once had and that was annoying more than causing me anxiety. And when my oldest son started driving he totaled my beautiful Camaro and said he hit a deer. Come to find out years later that he was racing someone else. Back then they didn't offer the classes that kids can take now to learn how to be a responsible driver. Try to concentrate on all these wonderful things you have and try to stay clear of those that cause you anxiety. Do your very best not to worry over things that haven't even happened. Hugs GB

Hi gramybear! I am doing better thanks to all the support ive been getting on this website. I am learning ways to deal with my anxiety. I have been journaling my negative to positive thoughts, doing alot of positive self talk. I am a work in progress and i realize that it will take a while to overcome this anxiety... Ive spent most of my life being anxious! I realize i have the ability to control my emotions and how i react to outside stimuli. I hope you are doing well too!
