Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I'd throw in Child's Play (with the doll named Chucky) but thought they were lame.
NoFear: Agree...with the exception of John Carpenter's original Halloween (it was a novelty), don't find slasher flicks all that great either. Scream was original BECAUSE it was so derivative and added comedy to the slasher genre, which makes it all the more disturbing. Makes humans look like the only animal that kills for pure pleasure, not merely to eat or in self-defense. The human monster is truly scary.
I prefer movies about killer animals.
Silver Bullet (werewolf, based on a Stephen King short story)
Cujo (the killer dog)
Christine (about yet another demon-possessed killer car)
Gremlins
Twilight Zone-The Movie: Nightmare at 20,000 feet (with the little gremlin on the wing of the commercial jet)
I remember when I first saw Candyman my brother and I would take turns standing in the bathroom in the dark saying Candyman three time. Then we would get all freaked out.
The Shining was really good. I don't remember watching it though. I remember bits and pieces, but it is as if I dosed of for most of it for some reason. Maybe I was distracted.
Sorry...I don't watch a lot of TV. I read the book Halloween. It only took me a few hours. It was good.
I like to watch scary movies too. They dont effect my anxiety. I guess its just easy for me to get scared but keep it in reality. I also love rollercoasters for the same reason. I wont be able to ride any this summer with being preg :( but its worth it!!
I also like science fiction. Isnt that weird? If you like those kind, I recommend "Stay". Its really good!!
My fav scary movie right now to watch with ppl that havent watched it yet is "The Perfect Getaway". Its a suspence thriller and its good!! Not alot of gore. It just keeps you guessing better than most movies I've seen.
I like some old scary ones. I guess its nostalgia. Chucky, Gremlins, Kujo (even tho its rediculous! No dog can rip off the top of a car unless its convertable top!)
I watch Leprucaun for the first time the other day as well as pumpkin head 2. Give me a break, this 4 leaf clover keeps him in a box? How tough can a villin be? And pumpkin head was silly too but then again I've been watching movies like "Saw" and "Splinter". So going from new age horror to old, its strange like that.
