visualizations are one of my more effective meditation tools. visualizations are quite easy --verily instinctive-- for me. i think with my senses then translate those senses to words when i need to communicate with others. translating words between spoken languages is easy schmeezy compared to translating sensory input to words.
recent weeks find me wishing to pick up where i left off back in march, 2020 in finding mask free, up close and personal therapy support for my little ship of fools. we have come a long way since the fatal car wreck took mommy and daddy from us in fall, 2019. i'm not so confident of which direction(s?) that long way has taken us. nor am i confident mask free, up close and personal support is available. covidic weirds still seem to emerge in unpredictable places and forms. i'm still dissociating into social anxiety flight mode when slapped by unexpected mandates.
i'm pulling one of my longest running visualizations out of the psychic mothballs for this task. a lion-tamer. when my psycho weirds present, i imagine myself in a circle of lions, snapping my whip to bring savage beasts into line.
anybody else use visualization as a therapy tool?

disappear. Once I used it for physical pain. I went to the beach once a year for many years. I loved the ocean. Imagined I was in the water at the beach. Made it as realistic as my mind could. And while the therapist was pulling my leg, I drifted away from the pain to the calm beach.
