You are so right prayer and my trust in Jesus is why I never had to use meds I have leaned on the lord and his promises. Prayer changes everything and avails much:)

Well now see...The Good Lord gave us Brains so WE could Think, Free Will so we could Act...Emotions so we could Feel...this is up to us..and we CAN Do this...With Help & Support, Understanding from Each other...We are Allowing Negativity to Control...we Need to Take Back Control and Make Room for the Positives...

Sorry but what you say isn't very helpful. Anxiety is a complex problem. Each may have to face this with great heroism, using many different methods ,such as biofeedback, meditation but not all people are of the same mind that you are and to think so only invalidates those that don't feel exactly as you do. Since we have an anxiety problem plus some with many others as well to, " say there is one main way is an injustice..

I don't think anyone was saying there is just one way to handle anxiety...i think they were just expressing their way of giving their fear and problems to the Lord, and how He has helped them. Sometimes, we get so wrapped up in our problems, we forget their is help. That is what i (me personally) think they were saying, like a friendly reminder to those who do put their faith in God, not as anything against those who don't.

well...In the Title you can see what this Post is about...If it is going to upset you...why Click on it ? he has Found Peace by Turning things Over to "The Lord"...I Say "YeaY" for Him !! and he just wants You all to find that same Peace...If that does Not Work for you...Why come into the Post ? Is as Simple as Simply Not Clicking on it...

I don't see How or Where this Invalidates anyone...sometimes to Move Forward ya have to let Go of things that are Draggin ya Backwards...some people Choose to "Let Go & Let God"....does Not work for everyone !! each of us have a trick..this is His...and I am Happy for Him that it Works for Him. Personally...I believe God gave us all we need, we just need to figure out how to use those Tools...

Koolman I agree with you!! I was just got saved back in December and I have turned my problems over to the Lord. I am finally finding some peace in my life. It is still hard sometimes but my faith is getting stronger everyday and I know whatever the Lord thinks is best I will handle it because he is there with me :)

True, anxiety is a complex problem. But this is one POSSIBLE solution. Just trying to help. Whether you believe that Jesus Christ is our eternal savior or not, the fact is, his word contains a lot of good common sense, and I find the words calm me somehow, even get me to laugh at myself and the rest of the world.

Koolman, I totally agree with you. The Lord is my savior and I know that in him I can trust. And I know He is the one that helps me through this. He doesnt give me something I cant handle...and if I just cant...then I know he is there to guide me :)

I dont understand...why click on the post if your going to be ugly. Why bring negativity to something so perfectly positive...that HELPS him, me and from what I saw others as well.
This is a HELP group...we are not here to judge one another...we are here to SUPPORT each other.

I'm not trying to be ugly, It's a trigger line for me is all. I am a Christian. But was with a Baptist preacher's family as a foster family they were extremely abusive and I heard the line from him "turn it over to the lord" anyway i wonder if we can't keep religion and politics off the forum. Because there are those of us with PTSD that can get very freaked out. thanks for your understanding.

I agree with you Koolman....it works for me too and I see nothing wrong with anyone sharing on this forum what works best for them. What is right for one is not necessarily right for someone else. We are all differant.
PTSD is the pits, I know, I too have it, but i've learned to put the blame where it is due, which is the abusers. It took me a long time with alot of counseling to figure out things in my life. For me...God does work, and I do not go to church. I get with God in private, usually outdoors, and I read his word.
I'm so sorry for all the pain that we all have gone through,.

Oh I forgot to ad that the reason I don't go to church and choose to worship in private is because of the very reason Sherocket mentions. Unfortunately, sometimes the places that we are taught growing up, to be safe.............are not safe at all.
When we lose our trust due to these abuses I think it makes it very difficult to know what or who to trust, and what or who to believe in.
But as for me, God is my Savior.

Well I do respect others beliefs but I myself am atheist. I agree some level of...well not to be insulting...fantasy...sorry; does help distract you from how bad life can be. I am deep into science and fact and it is scary at times especially with all our built up emotions we feel weak and powerless. I am glad prayer helps but for now I will stick with believing everything will be just fine. I do hope everyone gets over there own anxiety though
