As my 5 year old started kindergarten. As I get seperation anxiety but I know she has to school. But with this pandemic and with hearing about the possibility of stuff happening again I don't feel ready for her to start school and she's very excited so I have to make like its ok.
This year they have smaller classes they instead of going 5 days they go Monday and Tuesday then Wednesdays which I like because shell be home with me they clean the school then Thursdays they go and Fridays will be half day. There are so many restrictions the playground will be off limits they won't be allowed to share things are do physical activities together. That i feel they won't learn as well because part of learning is sharing.
She's excited to tell her class about her baby brother who is 5 months and how we moved into a new house and how its got a big back yard and a pool and went to Maine this past summer and had a blast on the beach on a cottage.
I'm just worried about her being sick my son is 5 months old and as a mommy who's protective of her children only close family and 1 close friend had met him. The only places he's gone to beside Maine and dads house is to his pediatrician. I won't take him into places like the grocery store or target as well as my daughter.

This year has changed how the first day is for everyone.
The decisions in life I make is based on the facts of my children and my husband.when me and my husband had started talking about having kids. That's when I had stoped smoking cold turkey and it was hard for me because I was a heavy smoker. But I wasn't going to deal with risking a child having birth defects because I wanted to smoke and I didn't want them to see me as a smoker by being around it and since my husband was never 1 to begin with there was no point and its been 8 years since my last cigarette. In 1 who can't just have 1 once in a while because ill want the whole pack.
The COVID fatality risk for children and under 60 adults is negligible. The marshal laws make far more sense in senior centers than elementary schools.
