Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Your husband going too fast, for instance. Is he fundamentally a gentleman, or just a jerk?
If he's a gentleman all you have to do is tell him. He should be holding your arm anyway. If he's just a jerk, maybe you don't go to his game. Maybe you disappear in the crowd, go out and have a lovely day shopping with his credit card (stolen in advance, think of an excuse) while he wonders if he's pushed his nastiness too far, and then you go home alone with your stuff, and leave him to it.
In fact I think the latter is far superior. Dawdle at the metro. Check out all the maps on google before you go, so you know what to do.
And then disappear. Let him work out that leaving you behind isn't that big passive-aggressive psychological jolly he thought it would be.
As to mum, not a lot you can do except to face it if it arrives. do you have any sisters/brothers who can be put on mum duty for the weekend? And again, on your holiday?
Luggage, there is something you can do: a big label on the bag; make sure you tag it correctly through one handle and not 2; and make sure the zips on it stay shut and aren't wearing out. I'm guilty of that last one; every time I fly I take my life in my hands...
In terms of this living mindfully idea: I don't understand it, but I do think that if you write down your concerns, then you may be able to tag ideas for self-protection beside them.
The children's officer where I work, if she has to take children somewhere, will create a risk-response spreadsheet. She will write down all the things she can think of that might go wrong, and then beside them will produce a set of ideas to deal with each situation. Either stop it happening, or to deal with it if it does. I think if you do this, you will be able to cut away a lot of uncertainty because you will have resolved some of the issues, and will have something on paper to show for it.
Give it a try. :)
