Then, call your doctor. set up an appointment. They can't get you in for a month? Okay. Nothing you can do about it. Breath. go do that one thing that always cheers you up and stops you from thinking, but isn't usually linked to stress.
for example, masturbation stops me from thinking, but I find it usually increases my stress (it decreases stress but is linked to it). It acts to me the way getting high does, putting me in a numbed state where I can feel my thoughts at the edges but the feelings drown out the thoughts.
Whereas Putting on music and pacing just makes me happy and upbeat, putting me in the mood of whatever genre I have on.
Or watch a movie.
You can't cause you have responsibilites? Do this.... finish up what you started on now. NO EXCUSES. time yourself (I have ADHD so I take strict measures to make sure I finish things).
Finish that ONE thing that you already started on or have to finish. n if you can concentrate. you know not finishing it will feel worse.
Then know that the thing you just finished is the ONLY thing you have on your "must do today" list that you actually ARE going to finish today. Know this, decide on it, inform the people that you feel guilty about not finishing it. That way when you do my next step you aren't feeling anxious about not finishing what you have to.
then go do that "not linked to stress happy thing" I talked about. Or watch a movie. something that not only makes the thoughts stop but makes you feel happy and in a good mood.
this stuff helps me. Though it's a good idea to have some plans for nightime, so that you don't stay up all night worrying. like tire yourself out.
