Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
When I was 3 I saw the movie IT by Stephen King. to this day, 20 years later, I have to keep all shower curtains open because someone IS lurking behind them. I will have panic attacks if I do not check behind shower curtains. This includes the public showers like the gym. I will open all of them and check in bathroom stalls.
Stomach aches.
certain foods, lasagnea (can't spell lol), greasy pizza, curly fries
Playing games late night near my fathers computer on the couch
alcohol because it gives me a stomach ache and then i get freaked.
being away from home
anxiety.
Lol i'm weird too, don't worry
My front yard or checking the mail...someone could drive by and stop to talk to me. I'm very socially impaired. lol
Wal-Mart...it's huge, full of people with shopping carts covered in no telling what kind of illness along with people I just know are staring at me along with that damn beep-beep of the registers over and over.
Loud stuff as well...especially more than one person talking at a time. It's always quiet around here except for my fave music.
Wooden bridges...I hold my breath and "suck in' my butt cheeks until we've crossed. Like that's really going to help.
Buying cigarettes or alcohol...I feel like I look or act suspicious to the cashier even though I haven't done anything. I feel defensive inside. I feel like I'm being screened for entrance into the White House. lol
This is a BIG one for me...the possibility of future disasters whether natural or man made...I worry about it constantly and I stockpile with everything from candles to batteries to MRE's. I am working on a gas mask and chemical suit collection. I'm always playing out "what if" scenarios.
This is even bigger...telephones. I loathe phones. I can't answer them. I can't call people. Making a doctor's appointment takes like 3 days of pumping myself up then taking xanax or klonipin on the day of the call. People think I'm rude and I've lost friends over this. I can't explain why it makes me so nervous.
Basically any social situation terrifies me.
I know there are more. I swear I am anxious about the craziest stuff.
1. Speaking in public
2. Going to work
3. Flying
4. Getting sick with anything
5. Seeing my dad
6. The idea of throwing up
7. Public bathrooms
That's all for now, just a short list.
1) Food (because I'm fat)
2) Noisy rooms (like restaurants or concert halls)
3) Getting sick or having pain
4) Thunderstorms (or any bad weather)
5) Flying
6) Viewing my bills
7) My student loan
8) Being home alone
9) School
10) Viewing patient records when they contain bad news (at my job)
11) When work piles up at the job
12) Going to the doctor
That's all I can think of right now.
