You've given us some ideas that potentially can help keep us on track if that is our problem with therapy. What I see as not helpful is trying to be in control of the session, that can defeat learning new skills or hearing the therapist's feedback. Leading a business meeting is way different than participating in a therapy session - where we talk about our feelings or ask for guidance. Sometimes maybe it could be helpful to just talk about our feelings instead of planning out the meeting.

It was nice since it had been awhile and I spent probably the first 10 or 15 minutes just looking around. It seemed things had changed a little, locations were a little different but I quickly adjusted. I was definitely having a nice time but after say a good 1/2 hour just wanted to finish up because I had to go to the bank and then the cleaner.
Unfortunately, just because you want to check out doesn't mean you're going to be done, and there is a lot of waiting, at least 10 minutes but you try to be patient. Complaining about the wait is definitely not going to speed it up, from experience it will vary a bit depending upon the time of day, and you do want to be courteous. You can try to relax and if nothing else talk a little bit while you're waiting. I did finish up without a problem and enjoyed the day. So that's was my first day shopping for clothes while my wife had her nails done.
