Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Some people will even become addicted to rage because they feel good when they can access this chemical cocktail that their bodies make.
The endorphins can really kick in on some people who have rage.
I am not a ticking time bomb, get a punching bag and get a real workout when you feel like that. You will get an incredible six pack and gorgeous arms, I say go for that.
Boy do I understand the ticking time bomb. My family always would say....You have a hot temper. You need to calm down. I heard this often as a child so I learned to stuff everything. After nearly forty years of stuffing it, now I am in therapy releasing it all and it ain't purdy. It is not just from me stuffing it as a child but I carried it into my adult life. I have stuffed so much from little to big things that now it is a big mess. The work of letting it out is necessary to having a voice and being able to be assertive and "not break things."
As I am not strong enough to turn over tables but I have broke a few things myself. You know the long mirrors you hang on the back of a bedroom or bathroom door. Well, if you slam the door to hard, it will break just in case you didn't know. :)
Don't know if you are in therapy but if not, you might consider it. Repressed feelings cause ALOT of anger. I know. You are not alone.
David banner who turns into the hulk when angered is portrayed as a quiet person at heart.:-)
I am working on a workbook that Garrett suggested. The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook fifth edition. It is really great and addresses repressed feelings and anger AND the rage that comes with it. It is $25. Maybe that might be helpful to you since therapy is not an option. It also has a chapter about being assertive and about personality styles that perpetuate anxiety. I can't say enoigh good things about this workbook.
I identify with Rogue (from the movies anyway). Because she is scared to get closed to anyone (touching physically) because she knows she will lose them. And I'm afraid to get close to many people like I did my mom for fear of losing them. Lost my mom 4 years ago and I felt I was close to her. Now I find out my boyfriend has a brain condition that the doctors gave him until the age of 35 to live, but for some reason he is someone I've gotten close to. And knowing I could lose him at any minute gives me built up anxiety that cannot be expressed, until something triggers it.
In reality we must care for people otherwise our lives will be of constant torment.I learned this by praying to God and after sometime I felt better from sensing his presence and love.
