Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
All you can do is take precautions like use waterless hand sanitizer after touching public things, don't get too close to someone who is obviously sick, and get your flu shot. The rest is up to God. Hugs
First, its probably important to understand that the hype you've been hearing about in the media is not an accurate reflection of the H1N1 virus. There is a lot of controversy over just how dangerous it is and its very important to remember when talking about pandemic flu that since the last one occurred medicine has increased 100-fold and education about how the flu spreads even more so.
Second, keep into perspective that you don't have to be a bystander waiting to get sick. There are things you can do to prevent getting any flu and keeping yourself healthy so if you get the flue your body can fight it:
-stay adequately hydrated all the time
-exercise (it's the #2 thing you can do to keep your immune system in good shape)
-eat healthy (a balanced diet will pump up your immune system while guaranteeing that if you do get sick your body has the nutrients to keep functioning)
-get 7-8 hours sleep each night (your body uses sleep to help make repairs, if your not sleeping enough your not at your best)
and the #1 thing you can do?!
WASH YOUR HANDS on a regular basis. Go back to childhood days where you washed your hands before every meal (even if it's a fast food meal in the car) and you didn't ever touch your face without washing your hands first. Start the practice now before flu season hits so you can get in the habit.
Remember to not let these anxieties about illness affect your feelings of control. Remember living healthy and being positive will always give you a boost no matter what comes your way!
Good Luck!
