Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Lately my social anxiety has been in full force. I can never shake the feeling that everyone I am talking to hates me; with the exception of very close friends.
Any small social rejection or friction tip me over the edge and send me into tears. For instance, today I was in the gas station and I cut behind someone as I was walking out.
I walked toward him and said, "excuse me," he had to step forward a little bit to let me through. The line was such that I would have to cut through somewhere to get to the door.
He said, "uh, the SMART thing to do would've been to cut in front of me."
I pretended like I didn't hear him and continued walking to my van, but as soon as I sat down I started crying. These petty little incidents cut into this horrible, overwhelming feeling I have of somehow being socially inept; of being horribly awkward and unlikable. I am not the most extroverted person, so I don't make tons of new friends all the time. Truthfully, I would like to be a little more outgoing and social but it's hard when I am so extremely self conscious.
It's killing me and it's exhausting. I'm tired of being so sensitive to these things :/ I'm tired of feeling so extremely unlikable all the time.

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Start using kind and positive words to frame your thinking and actions.
Be kind to you!
Best wishes.
Then I would have found a place to vent the yaddahs of the blahs within my peer support network. This is one of the places I might look.
Gentle support while you find what works in your case, Moose. Social anxiety is a rapid cycling equation that can be tough to balance. I take ^it^ one round at a time.
I struggled with low self-esteem for a long time. I used to be so timid, shy and introverted. I was nervous talking to people, especially in a group.
It was a difficult journey for me so I tried to educate myself. I read articles and listen to sermons. Through these techniques, I learned that I should prevent negative self-talk. I wrote down my emotions in my journal. I did things that I enjoyed. By taking small step at a time, I was able to overcome
I hope you can get the help you need. Please stay strong. We are here for you. Keep us posted. God bless.
