I have a feeling you're having some trouble breathing. Can you try and take some nice, deep breaths, in through the nose - to the count of 8 and out through the mouth, also to the count of 8. Sit still, and close your eyes, if you wish. This is yoga breathing, and I find that it sometimes helps me, if I can catch myself in time.
After the breathing, what do you like to do? Is there a craft, or home task you can do that takes up part of your conscious brain?
I have been on so many medications in 20 years and each time, its stressful. Is it possible for you to call your doctor and explain that this anticipation is giving you anxiety and if you can start the Zoloft sooner? Do you think it is the fear of the new drug that is making you scared? Or just the change, period?
Don't be distressed by the fact that you are going to be taking a generic drug. They are the same ingredients, same amounts. I only mention this, because you pointed out that it would be generic in your post.
