General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

my doctor has prescribed sertraline and diazepam to take for my anxiety yesterday...I've taken one pill of sertraline yesterday and 3 of diazepam so far....feeling sick and drowsy which are supposed to be common side effects. My doctor said i will feel worse in the first week... anyone else on this medication? If so, how did you cope and does the sertraline really work??
Zoe
Sertraline never did much for me but everybody is different. Hang in there. So far as the diazepam I never got over the sleepiness but it did work well on the anxiety. Possibly one of the only benzos that did.

Whats your dosage? Sounds like a lot especially when your first begin taking a benzo. Your body isnt use to it yet and you'll have greater effects from the meds. I've taken diazepam for almost a yr and it will definately make you drowsy and sick especially if your taking a lot. Ask your Doc if you can minimize the dosage...may help Just a suggestion! Good luck!

I just started 25mg Zoloft too and my Paxil is lowered finally to 10mg. I have had extreme depression and anxiety with the change over. Will this get better?

Sertraline worked very well for me for many years at 150 mg. Hopefully, if it starts to work you will be able to reduce or eliminate the diazepam because it can be habit-forming in the long-term.

1 week on sertraline 25mg and not seeing much improvement. It takes 1-2 weeks to see any effects and 4-6 weeks for total benefit. We need to be patient. I have also been having nightmares that wake me all night and get little sleep. Maybe this will calm down too.

Ice passed away in February at 17yrs old. She collasped one day and that was it. I am still crying. I miss her so, so much.I miss the smell of her paws, playing with her scruffy beard, listening to her bark in her sleep, the way she nudges my hand with her nose during our walks. I see her everywhere. In my car, at the door, under my desk, the neighborhood. I want to hold her and kiss her so...

I lost my dog last July to cancer, as some of you might remember. It was devastating and I got very depressed, but through treatment I got back to "my normal" last month. I've been poking around the rescue sites to adopt a dog and I've seen a few since July and I visited them but decided I wasn't ready. I actually adopted one in September but realized I was too depressed and it was a mistake so I...
