Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I feel very weird tonight.
I had to go to the Emergency Room because i was having chest pains. It was pretty bad. I sat in the waiting room for about 45 minuets and then i went back into the triage area. I felt so scared for some reason. I honestly have no idea why.
I kept on thinking i was going to loose touch with reality and that thought is absolutely terrifying to me. I kept second guessing everything, i wondered if anyone around me was real or not, and it scared me. I KNOW i am real. I know i am in touch with reality, but at the same time i feel as if i am not. I hate this feeling.
I was having memories that i didn't want to have, and it seemed as if they were right in front of me. It was almost like watching a video tape in my mind. I saw myself , in labor and delivery, all alone. I was in the triage area all alone tonight too. I was hooked up to heart monitors while i was there tonight, but, in my mind, i was hooked up to a non stress test, that they use when you're in labor.
The alarm went off because i was moving so much when i had the pulse rate thing on my finger, and all i could think about and see in my mind was me crying, wondering if my baby was going to be okay, because the monitor in labor and delivery had went off, just like it did tonight. All i could think about was why are they not doing anything, are they going to save my baby, whats going on..... Even though, i KNEW i was in the emergency room triage area tonight, and NOT in labor and delivery on a non stress test...
I'm so overwhelmed right now, and i hope what you just read made sense to you. :(. I am so afraid of loosing touch with reality once again, and i keep having to tell myself, you're not loosing touch with reality, its all in you're mind.
Is feeling like you're going to lose touch with reality, and snap at any moment and have a psychotic episode, normal with for people with PTSD? Does anyone else feel this way, or am i really just crazy? :(

In my opinion and ONLY my OPINION, I would think that this would be a common event for people with PTSD. I am not too familiar with what it is, but I do have a friend with PTSD and she says that whenever she sees a person that looks a certain way, it is like she leaves her body and relives the event that led to her rape and almost death. This happens whenever she sees a person that even remotely matches the description and it can be anywhere. Do not think that you are alone in this. Have you tried therapy? I think that this would be a good option for you. Hope that you feel better.

I have felt similar to that before with anxiety. It feels like you're so overwhelmed and your thoughts are taking over...that at any moment you could just be released away from yourself. But really, it just takes something to break the thought process. This sounds so ridiculous, but I was on a plane last night and feeling the same way. I just knew that I was going to pass out from the altitude and that I was going to just freak out. All of a sudden, the plane made a really loud noise, and I was distracted by my obsessive thoughts. For that second, I had my mind cleared, and it showed me that I'm the one taking over myself, nothing else is. So, it is controllable at least to some degree (which is reassuring). Next time that happens, try singing out loud if you can. Or, try chewing gum or snapping. Anything that will make your thoughts busier and distracted from making you miserable. :) Hope this helps!

Not sure if you seek a doctor for your PSTD but that is the person you should be explaning what you feeling. You sound like your in real need of help and from your past post things are getting worst. I think having a doctor explain what your feeling might help you alot. I will keep you in my prayers.

I don't have a doctor for it, because, i can not get insurance, and i do not have the money to pay for one. It's really hard to deal with this on my own though....
