Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. I love that people are posting free self-help websites, I don't think there is enough of that here. JMO

curiousity tho.

It is not a true biofeedback program since there is no "feedback" to the program, or user, as there is when a person has a true biofeedback session. During a full biofeedback session, the patient is connected to a monitor as hypergal describes. This shows the therapist how the patient is responding, usually by the patient resting heartrate slowing decreasing during the session.
"Calm" does not have this feedback capability, but you could get close by measuring your heartrate and blood pressure, before starting the program, and then repeating those measurements immedialty following. It is almost a sure thing that both will be lower, to much lower, than before, and you may even fall asleep.
Otherwise Calm can be used for meditation as is described in the FAQ Section of the app.
A funny (to me anyway) story about when I had several true biofeedback sessions with a PHd trained therapist with biofeedback certification. She was from New York and I live in Houston. Between her heavy NY accent, my bad hearing, and her using a soft relaxing voice, I could not understand what she was saying and had to really try hard to follow her instructions. This distraction really almost totally eliminated the effect for me. When I found the Calm program it was really helpful to be able to easily understand the guideance, which as I mention in previous posts, is identical to the words she was using. Therefore, for me, the program was better for me than having an actual biofeedback session.
