Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
You've had the tests done and you know your heart is fine. Accept that and go on as normal, palpitations and all, and don't give them any fear. When you fear them and fight them..it only makes the stronger. Pay them no mind and they will fade with time. Good luck hon. :)
You are under tremendous stress right now, its no wonder your feeling this way, i cannot believe your other doctor wouldn,t give you anything for your anxiety, i think its barbaric, it sounds like he doesn,t know much about anxiety.
As long as you take your meds as pescribed you should be fine.
I,ve been on alot of different anxiety meds and never ever had a problem with addiction.
Please go to your local doc who will prescribe for you, i honestly think under the circumstances you really need the meds.
I wish you the best and my thoughts go out to your husband.

My nan (who i am really close to) was taken to hospital a little while ago with heart problems so naturally i started to think i had heart problems too because of my palpitations.
Sometimes my heart does strange beats even when i dont feel anxious.
Its true when people say that because of your anxiety and stree you are more aware of any little pain or strange beat. I bet if we were all care free, anxiety free, panic attack free, stress free people then we probably wouldnt give our palpitations a second thought - we'd just get on with life!
You are under a lot of stress so no doubt this is making your palpitations worse. Just like panic attacks make mine worse.
You will be fine. Hang in there and the less credit you give to these palpitations then eventually they will be less frequent.
Take care

P.S. Taking the Xanax is a good idea. I have no idea what that cardiologist was thinking. It will make you a bit tired depending on the dose but the benefits of taking it are so great. I took Xanax for years without ever becoming dependent on it. I wouldn't worry so much about that.
