Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hi, everyone.
I've been diagnosed with chronic anxiety and I'm working through it with the help of my wonderful husband and some precisely dosed medication.
Long story short, I grew up in an emotionally abusive household with two narcissistic parents who were excessively overbearing and downright cruel at times. I have a younger brother, but because I no longer speak to my parents, he has detached himself from me. I have lost my family of origin. Fortunately, I have a loving and supportive spouse, a bright and affectionate young daughter, and a mother-in-law whom I love more than breath.
As many of you know, managing this disease isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. Despite my rock-solid support network, I still struggle with anxiety that clouds my judgment and makes me assume things I have no evidence to confirm. I hope to accomplish some real growth by joining this group and benefit from others who have dealt with similar feelings. At the same time, I hope to offer some empathetic comfort to those suffering along with me.
I looks forward to getting to know you all.

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

My anxiety, too, is a lifelong affair. I also have a PTSD dx from childhood yaddahs, but don't like to get too specialized in how I approach my mental health care. Life gets complicated. Too much specialization feels limiting.
Finding *A Cure* is still high on my wish list, but for now, I get by with a little help from my friends. Some of those healing friends are right here on DS.
Welcome aboard.
That's great that your husband is so supportive! Have you also looked into talking to a therapist? That would probably help you too. Hugs!!
