Are you in additional pain? Sometimes when our bodies are in distress we can have increased anxiety and feelings of being out of control. What strategies are you utilizing on your own to deal with the anxiety? How can you adjust them to better fit those days? No one should have to feel that way. I'm sorry.

Actually the steroid injection treated the pain very well . But my injection we on 7/6/17 and I am still having increased anxiety . Wandering if it could be the steroid injection .

I, personally, had a bad reaction to steroids (prednisone). After taking two doses of the pill, I was a mess with my anxiety so I stopped taking them. They can make people without anxiety bounce off the walls, so it may very well be the steroid. I also see a spinal doc, but they won't give me spinal injections because of my previous steroid reaction. Good luck, hopefully the side effect will wear off soon.

Thanks for your response . Things have gotten worse . I can't stop crying and my anxiety is worse . It's been 11 days since the injection. I saw my therapist and she doesn't think it's the injection , but I don't agree . I see my dr who did the injection on Thursday for follow up so I am hoping to get some answers . Meanwhile I just cry for no reason and I am depressed and anxious .

Hey, my name is Courtney. My situation is similar to yours. I also suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. I had surgery on my back a year ago for a disc herniation and they just did my first steroid epidural injection and I have already started having panic attacks like clockwork every 15 minutes. It has increased my anxiety immensely. It starts with my heart pounding and the feeling of someone sitting on my chest, then I start crying and hyperventilating. I can definitely relate to what you are feeling right now and with that said.. I am very sorry you have to feel this way.

Hi Courtney . It's so nice to meet you and talk to someone that understands what I am going through . I see my counselor today , I go every Tuesday for my anxiety. She is great but doesn't believe it's related to the steroids which is frustrating . I just keep crying and having panic attacks . I am so sorry for what your going through as I know it's a nightmare , that's the only way I can describe it . Prayers to you
