Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Could you try and get out of the house more when things are bad like a walk in the fresh air or see a movie. Maybe buy a cheap and cheerful bunch of flowers to take home.
It sounds like you feel responsible for others and have a good heart but remember your wellbeing matters too. Good luck
I sincerely feel empathy for you. My brother has similar issues when looking at the news, and things around him; he tends to get depressed about it and it brings him down. We had a conversation the other day about why this is. Personally, my opinion, is that he (and perhaps you) are trying to be the peace maker. You mentioned wanting the online group to stop arguing, and that others in your family are taking the deaths harder than you (you had stating having more trouble), and then you see the injustice in the world and perhaps feel bad because you can't do anything to stop it. My brother is a middle child, and I wonder if you are too? They tend to be the peacemakers in the family. If this is true (my statements above) I think you care a lot, but don't feel like you can really help all the time, as much as you want to, which is causing you to feel overwhelmed and panic. If this is true, I would recommend (as others had stated) finding something which doesn't cause stress and panic in your life, and perhaps taking a break from the online discussions if possible (although I understand this may be one of the things previously used to cope) . This is just my opinion, and my thoughts, so if I'm way of base I apologize! I really hope you can find the strength in yourself, or somewhere else (everyone finds it in different places) and if nothing else get a smile from the people on Dailystrength who care about you!
News is something which appeals to curiousity. When a person is functioning at about half, curiousity is harder to control. (Am suggesting more insight.) . . . / I admit that it is not desireable to feel completely uniformed. So just glancing at headlines when, say, at the news rack in supermarket... TV news shows (6:00 pm, etc) are where the control is in THEIR hands; for that reason and others, print media is better.. . . . . . / the others posting here have said really good things. . . . :) ! !
