Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Overit- aughh ive had the heart thing too, i took myself to the ER 5 times last year because of it. And i had a high medical
Bill too!!
The facts for you are that you are WAY younger than most people with bone cancer and ovarian cancer. You have no family history of cancer. And you have no symptoms that couldn't easily be attributed to weight gain or an impending period. Therefore the possibility of your having either of those diseases is really, really remote.
So since the facts are obviously steering you towards a clean bill of health...why can't you let go of your fear? Because you have a worry compulsion which is basically like an itch that never stops needing to be scratched. But if you ignore any part of your body that itches, eventually it will stop. And if you ignore any urge you have to worry......it will stop too. You just have to be consistent and persistent.
It took awhile before I could disprove all my crazy health related thinking. As long as I've had it before and I've disproved it (sometimes by going to the dr) then I don't have to do it again the next time. It's easier to tell myself it's not real. Now when it's a symptom I haven't had before.....well that puts me into panic mode and much harder to let go.
I hope you get to feeling better soon!
I used to worry about having a stroke too. Which was ridiculous because I would be serving drinks at the bar I worked at, communicating perfectly fine with everybody. I guess I thought I was one of those miraculous people who could still pour a perfect martini while in the middle of a stroke...lol.
When I first got anxiety, I thought I had a heart defect which was triggered by a doctor (med student) in the ER who was treating me for gastro said my heart was beating very fast...I obsessed for years after that....then....I diagnosed myself with MS a few years ago...I don't have MS...and now my latest one is cancer (after I started working in oncology so now know too much!). I recently lost a friend to cancer and it started with a lump in her arm....guess what I discovered yesterday...a lump in my arm...so I rush off to the doctors who reassures me it's probably nothing and who also told me that if you start looking for lumps on your body...you'll find lots so don't torture yourself! Now....I'm obsessing about every little ache and pain (I'm also pregnant) and trying to resist the temptation to look for lumps everywhere!!!! Anxiety is exhausting!!!
