Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
So around two months ago I was totally stressed out and wound up finding a therapist to help with anxiety/depression and stress management. Ever since then, things have not gotten any better in my home life (stress wise) and I find that the littlest thing brings back the hard core "sick" feeling next morning. It even turned into a sore throat, terrible for a week, now it's just annoying.
I asked my therapist about stress and panic attacks, and they can definitely wear down your immune system and make a cold take forever to get rid of, or make you susceptible to anything that comes your way.
I also asked my doctor about what to do, since it is just annoying (mainly in the am, like you) and she said to try a nasal irrigation... but I have been putting that off. lol.... maaayybe this weekend. We'll see....
Also, no meds for me of any kind (other than blood pressure) any type of head altering med (including cold meds) make me feel like I am on dope and even my pupils dilate! It's really not good.
Try not to worry about it so much :( I know it sucks, but stressing may just make it worse. Obviously you can/should ask your doctor about it, but for me, I had no symptoms other than drainage and sore throat - no sinus pressure or headaches or anything. So it is tough to do anything about.
If you do end up with a sore throat, I suggest (after seeing a dr) that you can gargle a couple times a day with Bragg's apple cider vinegar (the one with the "mother"). Yes it is disgusting, but it works. I dump about a tablespoon in a glass, add a couple tbsp of water then gargle it in two mouthfuls (I can only do it for a few sec with out gagging, so I spit it out pretty quick then do it again!) I really does work.... if you get to that point. You can also drink it for health reasons, look it up. But it is pretty icky to me and I don't do it like I used to..... before I got sick! Maybe I should go back to that.....
I am not sure about hunger pains, other than try to have healthy snacks around? I find that I am never hungry when I should be, but get hungry in between the times when I should be eating. This goes along with the last two months of my symptoms too.
I'm really sorry if none of this relates to your last post (I just thought it a coincidence... what I am going through lately), so I will go read that now... Hope you feel better soon.
have noticed lately any head alterering drug or substance i have almost no resistance too. Glad i am not alone. Seems to come in waves some days i can be fine others i take my dosulepien in the evening and a half hour later i am smashed. It never had that effect before it seems to be a recent thing since i came down properly with anxiety.
Anyone know why?
