I wouldn't be concerned about taking multiple medications. I understand and I hate being on meds too. If I felt that I could beat this without them, I would. But I have been feeling better more and more, at least owing to my treatment.
Everyone has different approaches. I hope you feel better. All the best.
If you just focus and worry and have negative thoughts, you will feel blah, irritated, blue, lackluster, etc. Your thoughts will make you feel good or bad. So knowing that try working on filling your head with positive things. From the start of the day and be positive even if the anxiety strikes its ugly head, because you have had anxiety before, it is nothing new to you, you knopw what to expect,
So from the very start of the day-own it. This is my day and I can do anything I want. I can make myself happy and I will do things that I know make me happy and that I enjoy. I do not have to go to the grocery store if I donb't want to- I do have a choice. I can enjoy this cup of coffee and this moment and I will. Fill your head with positive statements it will change the chemistry in your brain. It takes practice. Catch your self telling yourself negative things. Sometimes we feed ourselves negative things and we don't even realize it. Like I look awful, I'm fat, I feel fat, what is that a wrinkle, oh no , guess what with all these thoughts you will not look your best. Your body will reeact to these thoughts- you will slump over, your posture will change, you facial expressions will be sad, your complexion will even lack luster, you will appear dull. That is how much our thoughts affecdt us.
Add fun and positive things in your life. Start a friendship. Or work on an old one. Help someone. Look for things to have fun - take your cousins child to the movies, talk to an elderly person, do a hoome project that you have been putting off because of "your mood" and do it anyway, make it a point to smile at everyone especially your mate. Take yourself out for breakfast or any meal. Plan something a trip, a dinner, a romantic evening. Have a bunch of fun books to read . Work on making yourself feel better. You really have the tools but it takes work and effort.
You know yourself better than the doctor if you feel you are over medicated tell him or her. He helps you by you telling him how you feel. That is what he goes by. So if you keep saying I can't deal , I am so irritated, upset, anzxious, --he is going to treat those words and give you more and more meds. So just don't rely on the meds, do some of the work yourself. I have not heard of a magically pill that takes away every negative, every anxious thought because there is none. We need these thoughts to survive we have to relearn how to react.
