Has anyone ever taken Xanax? If so did you have any reverse affects while on it. I'm starting to take .5mg at bedtime every night and just worries about having reverse affects. Thanks

Hi, I'm a 37 African American female Md who was in the Emergency 2 times. Room for panic anxiety. The second time I went the Nurse or doctor wrote out the prescription. For 0.5 of xanax for 10 days. The xanax does sedate and relax a person. I'm down to one pill. Personally for a day and a half I experienced irritability and physical anxious iny body because of course I'm down to one pill. What I found out is that anxiety stars in the mind with worry thoughts and then manifests in physical symptoms. I'm feeling less anxious and less physical symptoms. I've been drinking Chamomile teas 2 tomes a day which decreases cortisol in the body. I also ordered passion flower tea and lemon balm tea. Theses teas personally hell me as I wait for the appointment date to see a Therapist on June 7th. 0.5 of xanax is a low dose so there will be side affects as a person begons to withdraw of lf little by little with a Therapist help. As far as side effects while on xanax for those 9 days I was fine so long as I took the xanx on time each night. The goal is to speak with the Therapist about alternative ways to conquer anxiety without meds. You are beautiful person with a beautiful soul. Like you I was worried about the side effects too. I'm not worrying as much. I just hate hate anxiety and depression and all mental disorders. You'll be fine hone.

My Dr has prescribed .50 and I have no side effects. It helps to take the edge off. I have been on the wrong antidepressant and changing to a new one. I have been having a lot of anxiety due to changing meds. Good luck. You will be fine

I take Xanax 1mg 3 times a day. It does help calm me. I've never experienced any reverse effects. I went on vacation for a week and forgot it at home. I didn't have any withdrawal symptoms just the anxiety and panic I take it for. I recommend trying it. You won't know how you will react until you try. Everybody has different experiences. You don't like it...don't take anymore. I think you have more to gain than loosing.

I have taken it for two days now and I feel it has let me sleep extremely well. I was on it as needed but not daily until now. I was at one point on Ativan and had major depression and suicidal with that medicine everyday. That's why I was worried. But xanax does calm me down

It wasn't Xanax I had a paradoxical reaction, it was from oxazepam weirdest feeling ever especially when you think it should make you sleep

I take half of a 0.25 when needed. It works wonders for me. Sometimes I'll take it at night just to get some better rest. Good luck!
