Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I am new to support groups, this being my first time joining one. Please forgive me for how long this post is.
I have been dealing with anxiety/panic attacks since the age of 9. For many year I have been able to control it without medication. The only major anxiety or panic attacks I would suffer would be ehile in a vehicle. Driving or riding in a vehicle for more than 10 minutes was the only time I needed medication, which I am prescribed 0.5mg of klnopin for. It has been a godsend in letting me live a more “normal” life.
As I tried to limit myself to travels, I maybe took 5-10 klnopins a month but 5 months ago I took a job where some nights I would drive 200+ miles. The driving was taking its toll on me as I often needed more klnopin than I was perscribed so I was able to cut down to a smaller route where I drove about 65 miles a night. I did this for about 1.5 months until ine night I felt off and called my wife while I was at work. She couldnt hardly understand me and decided to call 911. When the paramedics arrived my blodd pressure was at 212/114 so at their recommendation I was off to the hospital. The hospital eas very through with brain scan, ekg, cheat xray and blood work and everything came back normal. After about 4 hours I was released with diagnoses of a hypertension crisis.
Since that day (about a month ago now) I have not felt the same. I have had more testing done with my MD and there is nothing pointing at any type of health issues. I do have high blood pressure but it has been maintained with meds and I have never had it shoot that high. Now the last two weeks I have felt like I am having all day everyday panic attacks. My mind feels lost and confused, I feel like I cant breathe and that my heart is going to explode. It has been so bad that even my trusted klnopin cant subdue it and give me comfort like they have before. I cant hardly stand being around anyone, not even my two beaitiful daughters. I stay laid up in my room and my wife has just been telling them that daddy doesnt feel good. As I do suffer from bipolar (has been very well treated with lamictal) my doctor felt that I am going through a manic episode so she decided to start me on seroquel by taking one tablet in the morning and one at night. I tried this for two days, the seroqiel knocked me out but anytime I woke up this panic/anxiety is more intense. I have had bipolar for 20+ years and anytime I have had a manic episode, I have never had anxiety. This is the first time that I have had an anxiety or panic attack that has lasted for two weeks with no end in sight. It is from the time I wake up until I fall asleep with few and short calmness throughout the day. I am not sure whats going on amd just felt like sharing my story and see if others have had an episode of anxiety/panic last this long.
Thamk you for reading my book.

I am suffering from the inability to cope with ordinary every day things. From my housework to watching tv or reading a book. I get palpatations, nervousness, at the moment my heart is palpatating and all I am doing is typing this. I am so scared its silly, I just want to stay in bed and just get up for meals and coffee. Not that that is going to happen. At the moment I have my daughter...
Another thing that does it to me is a bunch of things that just arent going well that create an overwhelming plate,as in its all too much.and my adrenaline kicks on and doesnt want to shut off.sometimes things are bothering me that I have no control over.Sometimes its things I dont even realize are bothering me,if that makes sense.
Sometimes it can feel there is no end in sight,ut it does pass.It will go away
Do you have a therapist? I would keep up my your drs too.Sometimes they check for the bascs and dont look further unless you remind them, hey doc I'm still not feeling right.
Go easy on yourself and its ok to take it easy and rest.your not feeling good.
