General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. I started lexapro 4 weeks ago for anxiety.I am having stomach troubles since starting it .Constant burping, pain, acid reflux, and diarreah too.I do have a history of gastritis and this seems to have aggravated it to an extreme.I am going back to my pdoc to discuss this with him in one week.I'm wondering if any of the other meds are any easier on the stomach?Does anybody know? I take xanax .5 at bedtime but doc wont increase that or i'd just take that.I just want some ideas to give to doc because I find they usually say "what do you want to try?" and I have no idea what would be easier on my stomach.any ideas? thank you

I am also on Lexapro. I am only on 10mg. for depression/anxiety. I started it a little over a month ago after I lost my son. the depression has lifted but my anxiety hasnt gotten any better. I can never hold anything down. After I eat I am on the toilet within 20 min or so. The thing that freaked me out the most was when I would take my meds with fruit punch before I eat and it would make me go to the restroom and everything would come out red(TMI).....its scary its like im not processing anything. I took prestiq for a week and it was worse in my opinion. I have droped at least 10 pounds. I just wanted you to know that you are not the only one. I will meet with my doc today and I will let you know what happens.

I experienced the burping and acid reflux the first two weeks of taking lexapro, but it finally went away. Maybe it takes more or less time to subside for some people. Paxil may be an option if you're looking for an SSRI to treat anxiety symptoms. It's difficult to say what will or won't cause gastrointestinal problems since it will be different from person to person, and they are usually the side effects that show up with the highest percentages in people. It may help to take it on a full stomach, if you aren't already doing so.

I've been on lexapro 20mg for about 8 months along xanax 0.5mg and ambien cr. I 've had horrible diarrhea my whole life, especially since I had my galbladder removed, but I never noticed an increase in problems. Also, no burping or heartburn.I do know that anxiety itself can cause stomach problems. Especially if I go out to eat with other people,I'm terrified that I'll get diarrhea(or worse, on the way home). I get so anxious about having diarrhea that I do, even if I've taken Immodium(can't leave the house without it).

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
