Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I'm having one of those nights too, after quite a long time of being pretty okay. So I thought I'd start looking for a solution now because it all compounds like you said.
Overactive thoughts make me tired mentally and physically. Then that screws up social interactions and decision making. Then I overthink that, and it all continues in a downhill cycle.
Sounds very much like you are at the point where the anxiety continues to grow and feed the problems. So it's probably worth seeing a doctor to try something, even though the meds have some risk.
If get to that point again, I will try something with a little risk of feeling worse, because the alternative is to stay feeling crappy anyway and probably go downhill.
I think meds are all purely trial and error with no exact science. I tried a few over time. Lexapro had horrible side effects for me. The one that happened to work for me was Prozac (fluoxetine).
That's my take on it anyway. I'm very reluctant to take meds, but have been to the point in the past that it was worth trying. Even though a few tries made things worse, it was worth it in the long run. Just depends on how bad you feel and if you think there is much chance of getting through it.
Good luck and hope things improve.
I usually get snappy like that when something from my normal routine changes in a way I disagree with. It makes me focus on all the wrong things and then I start creating problems in my head that make senarios worse than they really are.
You say your focusing only on the negative, maybe leave yourself little post its around the house with positive sayings that way you see them often and it can help pull you from your dispare. If you have any close friends who would help that would be a good thing too.
I am currently taking Moafinil for sleep issues. (I can't remember the disorder but basically Hypersonmnia.) Any way, you should look it up. Most people who take it end up feeling happier. It's not a mood stablizer, it's a stimulant. I have anxiety and depression and it used to affect me in a really negative way, but since I've been on the correct dosage of this medicine my anxiety rarely shows it ugly face and I haven't noticed any signs of depression.
(BTW I mean the Correct dosage!!!! At first they gave me an extremely high dosage and I would go through random fits of "rage" I would just be mad for no reason and then I would become super paranoid. I went to my doc as soon as I realized that I was being ridiculous and he split the dosage so I take half in the morning and half in the afternoon! It's been working wonders.)
Feel Better ok! :) you are beautiful with a gorgeous smile! If your guy can't seem to see what a wonderful person you truely are then it's time to move on and be happy for yourself.
