Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
It will pass. BTW, the hot face is just flushing. Lots of people get that. I get it all the time and my neck up turns red. People can tell when I am stressed or upset. It feels like you are running a fever because you get hot. Some people flush from their toes up. Some people get chills instead. It is just your body's normal reaction to a perceived threat. The only problem is that your brain does not have eyes. It does not see that there is not a threat. You have to go through the motions so to speak to convince your brain that all is well.
Be kind to yourself. Do things that bring you joy. Work on relaxation for your body. Your brain will get the message. Your anxiety is just your brain and not you. I hope that makes some sense.
What really did the trick for me was diet and exercise. I'm not one that will just go to the Y or go out and walk, so I decided to buy a Wii Fitness. There was no one to watch me but the little funny looking people cheering you on. That alone would take my mind off of things and I had fun with it! It helped me to be healthier, have fun by myself and even lose a few pounds. I then found an old book that was hard to find written by 2 doctors ........ and I think the AARP published it years ago. Talked about all the good foods for you. Simple things ........... like I LOVE salmon and that's great for you! Nuts! Even dark chocolate is good for high blood pressure. Sweet potatoes. Really simple things that I had no anxiety making because it was simple. I started noticing more a focus......... i was actually focusing on things again! I actually heard my kitchen faucet dripping one night............ which is a rarity....... I have so many things going thru my mind that hearing a dripping faucet is unheard of for me.
Those things, along with my meds, made a huge difference. I got away from it this past year and I am determined to get back to it again. I'm amazed at the difference it made.
I also get heart palpitations which can launch anxiety attacks. Take a look at www.anxietycoach.com for some techniques that will help. Look up PVCs (premature ventricular contractions). They are not dangerous. Your goal is to separate the anxiety reaction from the heart palp, easier said than done! It's been a battle, but I'm almost there. You can, too.
As far as my understanding goes, the heart palps are unavoidable. I'm just going to have to live with them. Having said that, I do eat right, exercise, avoid alcohol, salt, and caffeine, etc. Since I can't avoid or predict them, I'm going to try to be cheerful in enduring them. "What must be done is best done cheerfully."
I hope this helps. I'm sure you will eventually get better and be better for your trials.
