My therapist wonders what "pay-off" I'm getting by nurturing these fears. Like, does the time spent worrying become a way to avoid tackling other things...? In my case, she may have a point. I have a demanding career and perform productively (outwardly) but the anxieties are a way for me to avoid making personal decisions about the future. Have you thought about why you are worried or do you know if something in your life triggered the behavior / thoughts?
Someone on here once told me not to fight the symptom to just accept that that is what your body is doing and i'ts just the anxiety. I actually find this helps - it doesn't feed the fear.
ANyway, my anxiety has gone through the ROOF over this. I have more symtoms than my one symtom from my real health "issue". Feeling sick, nausious, worn out, flu like. IT comes at random times.
Is this the cycle you all are talking about? Do you feel your anxiety makes you feel worn out or sick sometimes and makes symtoms worse that then feels your anxiety more!?
ITs so hard because it gets in the way of them figuring this out cause I dont know what is health and what it anxiety.
just wondering if health anxiety can make you feel just flat out sick sometimes even when you mentally are starting to do better, but then the symtoms throw you back in the cycle.
