Over time anxiety drugs took away my sanity and health and it is taking years to recover
I learn to even avoid more things.
Just remember to still work on your anxiety and panic and not rely on drugs to fix the problem because it doesn't. It only masks the problem.
I was very hesitant in the beginning, afraid doctors would tell me I was crazy and admit me somewhere. But they talked to me, helped me weigh the pros and cons, and answered all my questions and addressed all of my fears. In the end I had managed to muster up the courage to try medication and therapy.
I reasoned with myself (and with the help of doctors), that I would give it a try, and if I didn't like it, I didn't have to be on it/do anything.
I now realize that my decision to move forward and get treatment was the best decision I feel I've made in my life. I used small doses of medication alongside therapy to help me learn how to cope on my own.
I am now off of one major medication because of my work in therapy and the efforts I put forth outside. The other medication, xanax, I only take in emergencies/as needed.
Ultimately the decision will always be yours, just make sure you are making an informed decision based on your condition and that you have doctors that are willing to communicate with you all the way through your journey. It makes it that much easier to deal with the stress of it all.
Best of luck to you!
Eventually I had to accept his rejection for my own sanity. I suffered for a great deal. My anxiety was unbearable at times and landed me in the hospital. But I luckily had therapy sessions to help me cope. And you know what....eventually life got better.
My fav quote I share on here is "Sometimes we have to go right into the fire in order to find our true healing" - Jack Kornfield.
I would have never believed that before until I allowed myself to let go and feel the pain and emotions associated with my relationship and it's demise. I gathered the courage to speak my mind to him after we had broken up...and it felt like a weight lifted off
If you want to chat, I'm around. I can honestly say I have been where you are with anxiety and relationships.
