Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. guess it's like the saying, "what we focus our attention on gets stronger". I just try to breathe through the attacks, and think positive thoughts. Go over all the wonderful blessings and gratitude list. Like changing the channel on my body and mind. telling myself that the "fear" and "anxiety" are just lying to me, and I won't listen. I've been off meds for many years. I know that the prozac caused years of insomnia, which I still suffer from. I don't know why some of us are given this challege of fighting anxiety and fear, but it does get less powerful, as we learn how to tell it to "shut up, and go away". we take the power out of it. It used to be so bad I couldn't leave my house for a week, not even to check the mail.
Now, it still tries to come and attack me. I've had that "antsy feeling" of uneasy-ness all day today, but I'm just doing what I normally do, don't give it much thought or attention. I know the physical symptoms will go away, and I know I am fine.
I hope some of this helps you through this. It's my experience, I hope it's helpful.
