Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
It was NOT your subconscious that reacted but just your abnormal amount of anxiety reacting to what your father said,,,,,anxiety disorders make us very sensitive to so many things people say and do,,,,,,,yours is just another typical overreaction because you have an anxiety disorder,,,,,,it is that simple!
Just curious? But when you get that scared, what do you do with all that fear and anxious thoughts? Do you try to think your way out of it, try to relax or do you do some sort of ritual or compulsion?
Just wondering if you have GAD or OCD or both? I have both!
Hope U R getting professional help for you anxiety disorder,,,,,
I have GAD. If i have OCD at all it's very minor (I constantly knock on wood when i think a bad thought, I.E "what if this happened, what if that happened", I say that everything is going to be okay and i knock or tap on any wood surface.) OCD has never really been a problem with me but i have noticed minor ocd type actions that i do to calm myself down.
Mostly because if i went to a doctor they would make me take medication
Do you mean a shrink or a PCP? NEVER go to a PCP, family practitioner or internist for a psych issue! Taking meds would be your choice but maybe a good one!

Well, I am not sure what "keep in order" means? You still have GAD and the meditation only seems to work so well and n ot every time,,,,

Plus zoloft and all those other depression/anxiety drugs have horrible side effects and withdrawl effects.
100% WRONG!!!!! It is all an individual experience,,,,,,I have tried 12 meds and only a few gave me side effects and only 2 others were tough to go off of but one helped me tremedously! It is true that benzos (xanax, clonazepam, etc) are tough for SOME to go off of, but some claim they are helped them tremedoulsy,,,,,
I have tried 5 SSRI's and noen have given me side effects and only one was hard to go off of,,,,,,other meds varied but I have read literally 100's of peoples stories about taking psych meds and there is no rhyme or reason,,,,just a crap shoot,,,,,effects us all differently,,,,,
Plus, if U see a shrink, maybe psychotherapy, behavior therapy or cognitive behavior therapy could help you,,,,,,who knows?
But, it is your life so good luck with whatever you decide,,,,,
PS I have not had pork chops in soooooooooo many years! :)
I think i may look into Cognitive behavioral therapy. I've heard a lot of people having success with that.
