I second cindy11 on deep breathing, listening to meditation music, and chamomile tea. Also, you may want to try shutting your eyes and visualizing a safe, tranquil place in your mind. Tell yourself that you're going to be okay. This will pass.
Mine is putting on a relaxing song I love on my iPod, then going through the motions of brushing my teeth, getting my bed ready, making my hot water bottle, turning the lights out and avoid looking at your computer or phone when you are in bed with the lights off.
Also, if you a feeling spacey, take some vitamin B complex. If you have a lack of focus, unable to do anything, feeling lethargic, etc you might be low on important B vitamins, especially if you don't eat meat much.
Also try using your imagination before you go to bed. I sometimes think about what it would be like to be somewhere else doing something else. It relaxes me and helps me to dream.
