We can't control everything in life, but we can control our reaction to it.
1) Work both projects simultaneously. When my mind drifts to the project I wish I could work, I go ahead and let myself work it far enough to ease my mind. After my organic digits settle a bit, I gently nudge myself back to the forced march. Can you tell I'm uncommon good at multi-tasking? Don't feel too bad if this approach doesn't work for you. If you try it, emphasis on the "gentle" in the nudge. Beating myself up only adds to the work load.
2) Aerobics breaks. Whatever heart stimulating exercise floats your boat. The idea is to vent excess energy and frustration. The aerobics might or might not include a picture of the person who is pushing me into the forced march. "Take THAT, you miscreant! ! !" Venting is an important tool is my personal therapy. No need to tell the boss about the graphic aid. What she/he doesn't know won't strain the work relations much. Usually. I'm not too good at keeping secrets. . .
Continued support while you find what works for you, Cheryl. Working at home is not a justy affair when done voluntarily under calm conditions. The add-ons of current conditions are hard on us all, whatever our individual circumstances.
Be gentle with yourself and patient with the circumstances. Easy does it.
Try to relax.
Walk outdoor if possible for few minutes to distract you from thinking of too much work to do,
I hope things will work out well.
Thank you for sharing. Stay safe. God bless.
The breaks are so important. Stay hydrated.
You are doing your best!
