I remember there was this one time where i drank an ungodly amount of iced tea. I woke up in the middle of the night. The world was ending.
We were both just going through the motions and I was having a terrible panic attack. I was talking through roaring ears and on and off blackness entering my vision.
I thought, maybe this guy will call an ambulance if I fall out as I was sitting there telling him calmly about my credentials. For some reason he started telling me about his recent knee operation, interesting. No idea!
Then I thought oh well, might as well ride out this wave and I did. I started getting better in less than five minutes. My internal clock is always spot on.
I do not even feel bad that I didn't get the job. I knew he was going to hire a guy. I could read him like a book. He was still a nice guy though.
What it taught me is that my thoughts are really messing with me and I am starting to gain the ability to control those thoughts and tell them "No, go away" and they listen and go away or at least not be such a bother.
I read that your can re-train your brain with challenging negative thoughts, practicing positive affirmations and being mindful. Thoughts and emotions are two seperate things although sometimes hard to determine which comes first for me personally. You can control your emotions but it takes time and discipline. Catching the negative thoughts, and re-framing is a great tool to stop the cycle from going full circle! It takes 21 days to change a habit.
I listen to my MP3 player at night before going to sleep with positive things like Louis Hayes "Power Thoughts" and some Christian Meditation downloads. It has helped me a lot!
I tend to go off the deep end when my kids get sick or my husband or myself. I automatically assume the worst so I am working on that. I remind myself that "Everthing really will be OK" and "This will pass"
