Never had to really deal with anxiety, but these past 6 months I just recently started dialysis. And I can't seem to stop the attacks. The doctors recently prescribed me Zoloft. Is this really going to help ? I dont know how much longer I can take of thisĀ

In my experience u sometimes get worse before better. Give it a good 4 weeks to see how it's going.

Zoloft helped reduce anxiety and panic in me. It might help you too. Also look to non-medical approaches to help reduce your anxiety, if you can. There are tons of books about this!

I was on it for a year, definitely helped. Does take the 4 weeks, like a previous reply stated. (: hope you feel better!

Accept the anxiety. Take a deep breath in, hold for 5 seconds and exhale completely. Relax! Find some guided meditations and visualizations to listen to, autogenic training will help you too. Being relaxed no matter what happens is a skill you can learn. Find a good meditation teacher, practice yoga and/or qigong, a good NLP practitioner can help you a lot. Take the pills if you think they will help but work toward a pillless joyful life. It's closer and easier to reach than you think.
