Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
For the quickest resolution to your problem you can:
1) Tell your mother to stop calling
2) Tell her when she is upsetting you and tell her politely that you will call her back
3) Point out that she is being negative and when she wants to discuss something in a positive light she can call you back.
Again, not much is going to make your mother change overnight. Plus, nothing can make your mother change unless she wants to change. All you can do is set boundaries for yourself. As you continue to set boundaries she will eventually change to accept and acknowledge your boundaries. And when that happens you will not be so upset with her. But until this happens, you will continue to be upset with her. I'm sorry to be so blunt but there really is no quick fix for this type of relationship struggle.
If you stop giving her the attention of her drama, then maybe she'll let up off of it after a while.
In the email, advise that she write down her problems and try to keep you out of them unless it involves you. You have things to deal with too.
