Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Good for you for student teaching. That will look great on your resume for the future. Yes, it's hard. Yes, it sucks. Every job sucks in one aspect or another. I've held a really good job with a really good company for 11 yrs now. And there are days I dread going to work. But the pros outweigh the cons.
Another truth: the friends you have now may not stay your friends. As one grows, some people will not grow at that same rate and a distance occurs. And that's no one's fault, it's just the way everyone grows differently. It's the friends who want to be with you instead of going out to get drunk because they know you aren't into it..those are the people who will count in the end. The people who extend themselves for you and make an effort to spend time with you..they are keepers. I don't drink any more and I've been distant from several friends because that is all they do is drink. But then I have friends who reach out and want to stay connected anyway.
I'm sorry about your friends passing away. That is really hard to deal with, especially with it happening twice in one weekend. Just remember that it is OK to let yourself grieve. Don't stuff it down inside.
Another truth: counseling really helps. As long as you click with your counselor, having someone to talk with about all the crap swirling around in your head is so wonderful. If you can't or won't do counseling, journalling is also a good way to get everything out. And posting here. That helps too.
Wishing you the best, sweetheart.
I actually do go to counseling through the health center at my school. I have been seeing the same counselor off and on since my freshman year. It does help me most of the time to have a safe place to let everything out. I don't have another appointment though for a couple weeks.
Thanks for listening :)
Yeah, it's not easy when anyone close to you dies. I lost my brother in January of this year. In my life I've survived numerous deaths in my family and a divorce. Just surviving it all makes you stronger I guess.
Quietfire- If I had more availability I probably could. Since I'm student teaching there is only one appointment time that works with my schedule. My next appointment is already a couple days later than it usually would be.
