Think its a real bummer when i feel like im not even here ,just looking in at a picture of everyone else,in a blurred place ,exercise can help but its so frustrating to be in this place most of the time, can anyone relate to this and any ideas to combat it.??

I can completely relate and there is a name for it....depersonalization. Depersonalization (or depersonalisation) is an 'alteration' in the perception or experience of the self so that one feels 'detached' from, and as if one is an 'outside' observer of, one's mental processes or body. I had it for a few years in my early twenties and just felt so surreal....it was difficult to deal with but therapy is what ultimately helped. Exercise is really good as well. I haven't had it since then so know that it is treatable. Keep the faith!

This is something I think we can all relate to. It is a horrible scary feeling. It does go away, however, so try to think positive and just scrug it off.

Yes, I relate, unfortunately. I'm physically isolated--being deep in the country--and after a year of being here am beginning to feel that I really don't exist. Somewhere along the way, I've lost "me". Must meet some people, but that scares me for I don't feel a part of the world anymore. I'm 60 years old, live with my 79 year old mother and fear that I'll never get out of this situation. Am considering talking to a counselor, but fear that they are there only for the money and don't really care. But. I really don't want to continue as is. I hope things get better for you.

Yes I get it Karl... I believe it's disassociation, not sure if that and depersonalization is the same thing? When I am feeling ok it totally goes away.... I've had this now for weeks solid because of my anxiety levels and deep depression. The answers on this post have been helpful to me so THANK YOU for posting it... It's a scary feeling x

Karl - I feel the same way at times - like I am not really me but sort of just going through the motions. You are right, exercise helps, and when I am happier, I don't feel it as much, if at all. Try to do things that you enjoy.

I also experience this. It comes on me suddenly & I never know when to expect it. It's scary, but it does pass. Maybe you should talk to a doctor/ therapist if you're not doing so already. Hang in there!
