I have a test that's similar. My test goes 'who dies?'
if nobody dies, I let the issue go.
So with the battery: i ask, who dies? Nobody. Cool. forget it.
Hitting a car when you come out of the carpark. Who dies? Nobody. give it the kick.
That's a level 1 test. The next test is: can money cure this?
If money can cure this, then stockpile money. Flat battery? Pay AA to come. ding a car in the carpark? Money will make that disappear.
Husband not like waiting for tow company? Husband can cry himself to sleep waiting. Just not even a problem that exists. He flattens the battery, he can live through the fixup.
You're taking enormous responsibility for everything. You are not responsible for fixing someone else's mistakes. Your husband is a grown man who can find a way to handle his own responsibilities. Unless he's intellectually handicapped, you need to let go and treat him like a man.
