Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
your not alone trust..
no one understands...
they just talk shit
Are you on meds or are the ones your on not working?, you may need a change.
Maybe your family could go along to group therapy with you if you do that, they will see how many people it effects and how.
You could also buy them a book to read on Anxiety disorders to help them understand.
I know its frustrating living with someone with an anx disorder but they need to be more supportive and understanding!!!!.
You need suport and compassion!!! not anger, that only makes the anxiety worse.
Best Of luck to you love.
Im here if you need to talk.

I had my first counseling session yesterday and it was very helpful. One of the first things he said was....Anxiety is a LIAR. It tells you your mind us running out of control. You can not control your thoughts. You are going to die of this. The Fear is consuming you....."IT IS ALL A LIE"
The problem is, right now...we believe it and try to fight against it in our mind....which for me...makes it worse. I have anxiety attacks about having anxiety attacks. When I can allow myself to say....OK....I know this is all a lie.....if I am going to have an anxiety attack...fine....I will just let my heart race and my chest tighten up and go on with my like and accept it....many times this helps diffuse the attack.....not always...but I am retraining my mind.
Sometimes we need some drugs to help us with this. It is not a bad thing....that is just how it is. Don't feel bad about resorting to a prescription drug.
And yes....people do get over anxiety attacks. I had severe anxiety attacks 30 years ago and I got over them and it has been 30 years since they have flared up.....like now. But they are not as bad this time and I am rapidly getting control over them, with help from a counselor. I did not need and drugs this time...........so:
Hang in There...and get help.
In many cities there are mental health clinics that charge on what you can afford.....look around to see if you can find one.....or a support group of people that are having the same issues that you are.
We are limited to what we can do here...other than CARE and pass on our experiences......hope it helps.
I too have anxiety to the point that I am unemployed and having a hard time getting work. I have no one who understands either. Other people are the way they are because they don't understand. There is a cause to your anxiety and it has to be worked through. My cause is a tough one, was on meds for 30 years which stopped my emotional growth. Then I got off the med and started growing emotionally in my 40's only to have a "shit hit the fan" experience. People are mean. I get some insight through tapes from cloudtownsend.com that may help you as well. Look up monday night solutions. Also, look for the book "Instant Emotional Healing" by Pratt and Lambrou. The tapping helps to get emotional release. Also, accupuncture can help byt find someone who is reasonably priced. If there is a college in your area that is good, cheaper prices!
Email me anytime, I too need to talk and I have no one since my mother's death 6 years ago. Have a blessed day! Caeli
