Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Well, this Friday is the first time that I will be seeing a doctor in about a year and a half. Because of COVID, I was able to stay away from them, but they want to check to see if I still need to be on six different meds since I have gone down from over 300 pounds to 260 (I wish I was even lower but I hit an exercising wall).
I always have been scared of going to the doctors, out of fear of bad or terrible news, that's why I didn't go for over a decade, but my girlfriend helped me realize that I probably wouldn't have high blood pressure, hypertension, and Chronic Kidney Disease if I had gone.
So, I have been feeling a bit anxious. But, I also realized maybe some good news will come my way. Who knows, maybe I can be taken off of a med or two, but I doubt I'm going to be told I need a transplant, dialysis, or something worse.
I work my ass off for the better part of the past year and a half, I've hit a couple of walls, but I still put in the work. I need to cut back on my big sweet tooth, but that is literally my only vice. I wish I could be more proud of myself and not expect the worse all the time.
Peace, love, hugs, and blessings to you all!

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

When it comes to sweets, I've made a list of what I want when, and for those that are emotional, I have found making the moment special with a plate to serve it on helped me to move on from the emotional part of it.
You've come a long way! High blood pressure is often silent, kidney disease is often silent, and hypertension is normal once you get into the battle of health conditions. So, one at a time, pick something positive to help you find the balance to move through those tough challenges!
Here's to good news!
Try eating fruits for your sweet tooth. Summer is such a good time for yummy fruits in season. Strawberries, watermelon, grapes, cherries, peaches, nectarines.
I have found the way to stop a sweet tooth is not to cut back, but to stop completely. I know that's kind of drastic and hard to do!! But the weight would literally FALL off and maybe you could tell yourself you are cutting out sugar desserts so that you don't get any sugar related health issues (diabetes, tooth cavities, etc), as an incentive to cut out sugar? Try it for a couple months and see how you do.
Also, I know someone who had high blood pressure, so he cut out all chips. Potato chips, BBQ chips, all of those chips. Completely stopped. I don't know if it helped his blood pressure or not, but he suddenly lost 12 pounds. TWELVE pounds from completely stopping all chips. And he wasn't even overweight to begin with. No extra exercise needed. It was the chips! I found this incredible. Just passing along another idea for you...
Just some ideas for stopping a food completely, rather than cutting it back, to really reach your weight loss goals faster and in a healthy way. It can be hard to cut back, because we still want to eat these foods and we might slip and eat more and more than what we told ourselves we would eat. But stopping it completely means there is no wiggle room. You just don't eat it at all.
Anyway, just some ideas that work for some people.
Best of luck at the doctor's! Let us know how it goes. Hoping for all good news!!
It's great that your girlfriend is a good support for you... I hope that your appt goes really well sweetie
Sending you a big hug of peace and calm.....xo
I used to eat pizza, fast food burgers and fries, cheesesteaks, large sodas and other unhealthy options a year and a half ago.
Now, if I eat chips they are low to no sodium, eat pizza once a month (we had it a couple of times in may and June because of the move, I drink sparkling water and water almost every day (diet soda very seldom), only eat low sodium burgers or steak options with veggies or sweet potatoes at restaurants (which was a year ago), I have made so many different changes that I should be more proud of.
I’m secretly hoping my doctor says I have earned a cheeseburger or cheesesteak after so long lol.
