DO I HAVE TO TELL MY DOCTOR EVERYTHING?

Hi, My shrink does not like to prescribe benzos. But he prescribes other stuff (prozac, sleep meds, etc.)

But he is a really good talk therapist. Amazing CBT and I love him.

Would it be horrible if I kept seeing him for the CBT and got the Benzo's from my family doctor to take sparingly?

I would be cautious simply because you don't want to risk mixing medications that shouldn't be taken together. If you talk to your PCP make sure you tell them EVERYTHING you are currently taking.

That said, my PCP is the one who prescribes my Kolonpin and Wellbutrin not a psychiatrist, so yes they can do that. Just talk to your PCP about the situation and see what they tell you. Once they do prescribe something I would tell your psychiatrist you are on them because that may change your moods and such. You don't want the psychiatrist thinking your mood change is due to something else when it is caused by the benzos. He may need to alter how your sessions are run.
