I have taken both Xanax and Klonopin as needed for severe attacks, and I have never become addicted to either, but I do use them only for severe attacks/anxiety where I cannot manage to naturally calm myself. I've never had to take more than 0.5mg of either.
If you are worried about an addiction or tolerance issue - definitely discuss it with your doctor. They can help you decide how much is reasonable to take in a week and if you require more than that, they can suggest other options also.
Reduction s causing insomnia as you would suspect. The "addiction" is
that ove rtime it takes increasing doses to get the same effect and its
difficult to stop without rebound anxiety. thats why is better to take only
"as needed "if you can . Some people need it every day and if that what
allows a normal life , then its worth it. "Normal dose is 0.5 or 1.0 mg
twice per day.If someone says there taking 10 mg per day , they may
be confusing it with another drug or they have a HUGE problem.
