Klonopin is a long acting benzodiazapine. It is almost as long acting as Valium -- but it has less side effects than valium for most people.
Taking several smaller doses (.5 mg, for example) of Klonopin through the day will help with chronic anxiety. The side effects wear off.
Klonopin has the same issues as ativan with respect to long term use and sudden discontinuation ... but, as with any medication, consult a doctor before changing your regimen.
I take 1mg of Klonopin 3 times a day for severe anxiety. It is Written 1.0 mgs. Maybe thats why BARR thinks they take 10. It works well but I find it is stronger than ativan which does not work for me.
