Think of anxiety as a "conditioning" of sorts. Anxiety in a sense is a learned behavior. Essentially, recovery is learning to "ignore" the anxiety and create a new conditioning - one that is not based on emotional responses.
Recovery can take a long time - but it is possible. I was a housebound agoraphobic, and suffered greatly from anxiety disorders for many years. If I can recover - and 97% since 1971 - recovery is very possible for most people. It takes time, patience, effort, diligence, persistence - all if it!!! Just start and work at it daily - and see what happens.
